It is what almost all coaches have used at some point. It seems like a small thing but when studying film for game breakdown and review, all the functions I mentioned are extremely important.

I know that the apple tv remote will work on the hudl video but there is the fore mentioned directional problem with use and you can not slo-mo with the remote on hudl. You can download the video to iPad and internet lag is no longer a factor but you have to use the iPad video player. This causes choppiness in video and other problems if internet is running slow (which is often). Hudl makes a remote for use with the computer but you cannot use it with video you download to your computer. We want to be able to look at the screen and ensure the players are looking while "feeling" the specific button we are looking for to quickly reverse, ff, pause and slo-mo. Though the controls are great for watching just on the iPad, even to me it is uncomfortable to use while watching over the projector.
Hudl's has a video app on the iPad that has controls specific for coaches needs. For the older coaches (the ones who usually control the remote) the iPad is uncomfortable because they want to look at the big screen rather than the iPad. We have to mirror it through the apple tv for a big screen view and all coaches watching the video + reviewing games with the players. If you have a player who can't remember 7 plays (that's how many buttons the Apple TV remote has), why would you expect him to learn 40+ (Harmony remotes) AND that button functionality changes depended on what "device" is selected. The problem with a Harmony is you're adding LOTS more buttons into the mix. It's really the simplest to use, even more so than a Harmony remote (yes, I have both). My suggestion is to stick with the Apple TV remote. Airplay doesn't work well in that aspect when using non-Apple developed applications. Once you exit a video, you'll likely lose control through the Apple TV.

What this means is that your coworkers must still know how to use the iPad/iPhone/Mac AND whatever remote controller you select. Airplay is Apple's version of device streaming. However, with an iPad/iPhone/Mac you can Airplay from that device to the Apple TV. What I mean is that there is no Hudl app for the Apple TV.
I'm not sure you understand how it actually works. After it ends, you will need to buy the app for $9.99.So I just looked at Hudl.

You also get a free trial here to make sure that the apps are compatible with your devices. You will need to download an app for the Mac as well though, along with the Fire TV app. If you decide to buy it, it is priced at $4.99. The AirPlay Mirror Receiver comes with a 15-minute free trial so you can see whether it works for you.
Click on the corresponding result and you’ll see a list of apps that support it. Go to the Search section and type Airplay.
