Posted: Sat 22:45 Post subject: Re: ns2 Firmware- what is the difference? This happens no matter which file I try to flash to it (I have NS5.v3.0bin,, and ubnt_ns5-firmware.bin). I pulled it off the roof and am trying the tftp procedure as outlined here and on Ubiquity's site. That rendered the radio unreachable, but it was still associating to the AP. So without any clue as what the various files in that directory were, I uploaded ubnt_ns5-firmware.bin using the web interface (DD-WRT was already loaded). But the radio link went down and was unreliable. I originally started with AirOS 3, did a web-upload of and that worked without a problem with flashing.
NS2 FORUM HOW TO
On the download site for the dd-wrt ubnt version is a small textfile which describes how to upgrade step by step. Posted: Sat 21:54 Post subject: Re: ns2 Firmware- what is the difference? So now I'm going to try to tftp and go from there. Even though it was plugged in, all the LED's on back were off (does dd-wrt run the LED's?).

I had file loaded, things were kind of working I uploaded the ubnt_ns5-firmware.bin and now I can't get to it, but it is associating to the AP.Īt any rate, got up on the roof and retrieved the radio. My question is if there's a different default IP address that the unbt_ns5-firmware.bin uses than the file. Guide on HowTo be Safe, Secure and Protect Your Online Anonymity! Throw some buzzwords into the WIKI searchĪtheros (TP-Link & Clones, etc ) debrick service in EU You have to go back to the same airOS version that you come from and you should tftp it! I like the idea of running v24 on the radio so that I could (theoretically) not have to use a second router (in this case a WRT54G v3 which is working beautifully, btw), but the throughput and performance of the radio has been lousy. Signal strength (according to AP) is half what it was before. I see the radio is associated to the AP, but the IP address it had doesn't work, and neither does the 192.168.1.1, so I can't log back into it.Īside from climbing on the roof to reset it manually, is there another default IP address the second ubnt-* file uses?Īlso, I'm having an issue getting DD-WRT to work as well as AirOS 3 was. I'm guessing it should still be running DD-WRT. Problem is radio is mounted on the roof, so I flashed with the ubnt-* file (I hadn't read your answer to the OP's question yet).

So I updated to, then decided I wanted to go back. The other file is for upgrading from a dd-wrt webinterface if a older version was already installed The must be used for initial upgrading with tftp or ubnt webinterface in any way (webinterface for ubnt firmware 3.0 only) My question is this- on the firmware page for the NS2 there are two firmware versions avialbale: I am aware that first you must upgrade the firmware on the NS2 to the newer Ubiquiti firmware version before flashing the DD-WRT firmware.
